Founded on November 1, 2024, Chiplight Biotech (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. develops life-science and biomedical instruments and operates as a subsidiary of Zhongshu Biotech (Changsha) Co., Ltd. Its founding team brings together specialists in cell biology, software engineering, semiconductor chips and electromagnetic simulation, with strong cross-disciplinary R&D and instrument-engineering capabilities.
Chiplight created the world's first optoelectronic-tweezers technology based on black-light attraction and white-light repulsion. Its fully domestically developed platform enables dark-field manipulation with real-time observation, keeps cell damage below 5%, delivers more than five times the force of conventional optical tweezers and lowers cost by 70%.
The platform serves antibody-drug discovery, single-cell analysis, agricultural breeding, assisted reproduction and micro/nano fabrication. Backed by RMB 1 million from the Hunan Provincial College Student Venture Capital Fund, Chiplight aims to bring China-developed high-end optical manipulation equipment to laboratories worldwide.
